Metropolitan Lodge was established in 1903 as the 146th lodge under the auspices of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas. Originally founded by a group of 23 men in Dallas, Texas, the lodge is now situated in DeSoto, Texas, where it actively serves the surrounding communities. Over its 117-year history, Metropolitan has experienced periods of inactivity, yet it has emerged stronger than ever, revitalizing its mission and commitment to its members. The lodge is dedicated to fostering brotherhood and supporting the personal growth of each individual on their journey toward self-mastery, high moral standards, and a commitment to service and charity. Metropolitan firmly believes that enhancing the individual is essential for the overall improvement of society.

The fraternal bond among the members of Metropolitan Lodge is a cornerstone of its identity, uniting them in a shared quest for virtue and ethical living. The lodge adheres to the principles of traditional Freemasonry, emphasizing the importance of understanding and appreciating the values of historical societies and institutions. Through various activities and programs, Metropolitan seeks to cultivate a deeper awareness of these traditions among its brethren, reinforcing their commitment to personal development and community service. This dedication not only strengthens the ties within the lodge but also contributes positively to the broader community, reflecting the lodge's core belief in the transformative power of individual growth.

Metropolitan is committed to the advancement of Freemasonry and ensuring quality in the Masonic experience by initiating well qualified men, providing quality Masonic education, and engaging all members in continuing Masonic fellowship and activities.

One of Masonry's traditions is that we do not solicit members. Men must seek membership on their own initiative.
